For Australian residents, the tax-free threshold is $18,200.
2025-26 resident bracket
$18,201 to $45,000 is taxed at 16 cents for each dollar over $18,200.
Middle brackets
$45,001 to $135,000 uses $4,288 plus 30 cents per dollar over $45,000. $135,001 to $190,000 uses $31,288 plus 37 cents per dollar over $135,000.
Top bracket
Income over $190,000 uses $51,638 plus 45 cents for each dollar over $190,000.
2026-27 change
From 1 July 2026, the 16% rate is scheduled to reduce to 15% under the legislated tax cuts.
